What is metabolism?

Simply put, metabolism is the rate at which your body burns its way through the calories just to keep itself alive. making your heart beat, your lungs breath, your brain think, all these things burn calories. Your body is always burning calories even when your just sitting around doing nothing. The average women burns about 10 calories per half kilogram (1lbs) of body weight. The average man, about 11 calories per half kilogram (1lbs) of body weight. There are 3 main types of calorie burn that happen in your body throughout the day. If you understand how they work, it will help you change the way you think about losing weight.
