How Did I Get Fat?

A lot of weight-loss literature out there tends to stress that being fat is not your fault. Blame your past, blame this event or that event, blame the fast food industry, even blame your body, but don't blame yourself! In my opinion, this mindset makes no sense whatsoever. If my being fat is as a result of circumstances beyond my control then how will I ever lose weight? No! I say it is your fault, But thats a good thing! Why? Because if you made yourself fat then you can make yourself thin! Its an encouraging thought knowing that you don't have to wait for the fast food industry to close down or other circumstances to change before you can start losing weight. You can do it now, because you are in control! Well how did you get fat? Though there are many scientific answers I think the real answer is simple. Somewhere along the line, whether it be in your childhood, high school or at the age of thirty-five, your unhealthy fat-making food intake became more than your healthy fat-losing food intake and the time you spent resting and relaxing became more than the time you spent active and excercising. It probably happened slowly. So slowly, in fact, that you might not even have noticed the change. And now you are so used to it that you've forgotten there is another way to live. Gulping down burgers, pizza and fries has become such a part of your life that you struggle to believe that there is anything else out there to eat. That's how it happened to me. I have lived on all four sides of the box. I went form being a normal child to a round, chubby teenager, then to being extremely thin and scrawny in my late teens, to now - the best shape I've been in so far. Let me tell you that you too can break the cycle and get out of the rut that you've been stuck in for the past 5, 10, or 15 years! I will show you how. And I am the proof!
