5. Abs will help you beat your friends in sport.

If you play any type of sport especially running, stop start sports like tennis or soccer. Stronger biceps, chest or legs aren't going to make you faster. Its a strong core that will. A study was conducted to see which muscles engaged first in stop, start sports like the ones previously mentioned. The researches found that it was the abs that engaged first. So the stronger your abs the faster you will be able to accelerate and decelerate.
